Lost Lagoon, Vancouver Canada

Lost Lagoon is absolutely stunning! A quieter area of Stanley Park with a track running around the lagoon that measures about a mile or so. It almost looks like a picturesque postcard. There are even little picnic areas toward the lagoon with benches!

March Snowfall in Vancouver Canada!

We had a pretty adventurous winter with several feet of snow that would cascade down in buckets over several weeks..piling up, melting, then piling up again. Usually in Vancouver it's very rare to have this much snow, and even more far-fetched..in the month of March! Here it is..the Snowfall early yesterday morning in Vancouver!

Gastown Steam Clock, Vancouver Canada

I love it when I'm in Gastown, either at the Water Street Cafe or just passing by on the street, and the Steam Clock starts Steaming up and Whistling. There's always Tourists gathered around the clock, taking pictures. It's truly Unique..The Steam Clock is a must see when your here in Vancouver.

The Steam Clock stands on a street corner of Gastown in Vancouver, and is one of the World's only functioning Steam Clocks. It is powered by steam from an underground system of pipes that supply steam to heat many of the downtown buildings of Vancouver, BC. Every quarter of an hour the Gastown Steam Clock sounds its Whistle and you can watch the steam shoot from the vents at the top of the clock. If you look through the glass panels on the side of the Steam Clock you will see how the steel balls are raised to the top of the clock under steam power and then they slowly fall to create the power to make the steam clock work. Steam powered time telling at its best!

While in Historic Gastown make sure to check out some of the great Souvenir Shops, walk the Cobblestone Streets and then eat at a nice café or restaurant like the Old Spaghetti Factory for a bite. They have pretty good food, and they've mastered the pasta dish!

Come watch the clock spew steam into the air and then tuck into Starbucks for a steamy cup of latte!

Kitsilano, Vancouver Canada

Vancouver is full of great neighbourhoods and communities which are easily accessible.. thanks to our extensive Transit System!

Kitsilano is one of the most popular neighbourhoods in Vancouver, its on the west side of the City.

Kitsilano encompasses a very large area.

There are many great places to check out while in Kitsilano, such as, Kitsilano Beach, Boutiques, Bookstores, Cafes, Yoga Studios, Organic Markets, and Vancouver's Greektown. Kitsilano comprises of many great restaurants to satisfy everyone's tastebuds! There's.. Maria's Taverna..seriously Greek Food cannot get better than this! Milestones..a great eatery, The Naam..a full-service Vegetarian Restaurant and the City's oldest Natural Foods Restuarant & I must say, the restaurant always has a Delightful Atmosphere! Sushi Restaurants such as Hi-Nippon..where the food is consistently good, Nyala..which is a great Ethiopian Restaurant and serves buffet on certain nights, Lumiere and Bishop's, two of the city's best restaurants according to Vancouver Magazine's Restaurant edition every year..and yes i have been there and TOTALLY AGREE!

It's a great way to spend an entire day out, be it for shopping, the beach or even just to stop by the local Starbucks for a great cup of coffee!

About Vancouver

Vancouver is in very close proximity to Mountains and Nature in general. One can go Snowboarding anytime in the winter months. Hiking is year-round, then we have Camping, Boating, Mountain Biking etc. Even when it rains here its not cold, its pleasant warm air. Vancouver has a very mild climate. The Air is very Fresh! We get to Breathe in the Cool Ocean Breeze!

Another thing i would like to mention here is that we are relatively close to the US Border! So anytime we want to go site seeing or just a day out, we are just a couple of hours away from places like Seattle(remember the movie Sleepless in Seattle!), Oregon and Bellingham just to name a few!

I will write more tomorrow..
